Terms & Conditions

By attending an appointment you are agreeing to our terms & conditions below.

 

PLEASE READ TO AVOID EXTRA FEES.

Matting

At L.A. Dog Grooming we do not brush out severely matted hair as it causes discomfort and pain. Your pet's happiness and welfare is of utmost importance to us. We will take you through the most comfortable options for your dog on arrival.
L.A. Dog Grooming accepts no responsibility for any vet fees if health issues (for example skin sores) are exposed when shaving off a severely matted coat.

You will be required to sign a matting form with more information on the process if your dogs coat is severely matted to the point of needing shaving off.
You will incur an additional charge of £10+ for heavy matting requiring a full shave, this is due to the damage on our equipment caused by shaving off a dirty dog.

Pregnancy & Season

 L.A. Dog Grooming is unable to groom dogs in season or pregnant due to having other dogs in the salon at all times.

If your dog arrives to the salon in season you will be declined service and required to pay for the missed appointment.

For dogs that have been in season, you will need to wait 2 weeks after the last day of bleeding. These 2 weeks are the time where they are ready to mate and most at risk to become pregnant.

Pregnant dogs will need to wait until after the puppies are weaned so will be fine without their Mother for a few hours, usually around 5-7 weeks.

Cancellations

Please note we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. This is so we have enough time to offer the appointment time to another dog needing our services. If an appointment is missed without notice, we will require a 50% non refundable deposit in order to rebook a new appointment. If you fail to attend this appointment the deposit will be lost.

For repeat offenders we may ask for a full fee up front for all appointments or decline services altogether.

Parasites

L.A. Dog Grooming does not accept dogs with fleas. This is due to having other dogs in the salon at all times.

Please treat your dog for fleas regularly.

If your dog is found to have fleas at drop off we may have to reschedule your appointment.

If your dog is found to have fleas whilst being groomed, the groom will be completed (flea shampoo used) however the pet owner will be charged £15 for the cost of disinfecting the salon with flea spray.
L.A. Dog Grooming will remove ticks free of charge if found during the groom.

Pet Health

To help us give your dog the best experience possible, we would like to ask you to identify any ongoing or new health conditions at point of drop off. This is so L.A. Dog Grooming can make your dog as comfortable as possible.
L.A. Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse service for certain health conditions, for example if they have an open wound.

Vet Care

We endeavour to provide the best service possible, however in the rare case of an accident, the pet owner agrees for L.A. Dog Grooming to transport their dog to the nearest vet for treatment if required. The pet owner also agrees to pay any and all fees that are not covered by our insurance (pre existing conditions etc).

Payment

Cash or card payment is required upon drop off or collection of the pet. We apologise payment cannot be made by bank transfer or cheque. Payment cannot be made at a later date.

Late pick up

We understand if you are running late, pet owners will have up to 45 minutes to pick up their pet after the agreed collection time. We cannot hold dogs for a long period of time as we have no facility to let them out to the toilet.

Late collection fees are £10 per 30 minutes.

Photos

We are grateful you have chosen us to groom your dog and we are proud to show off our skills. L.A. Dog Grooming will sometimes use photos of your dog on our website or social media outlets etc. If you do not wish for your dog to be photographed please notify us at drop off.

Slander

Under the malicious communications act 1998 section 1, L.A. Dog Grooming will not accept or tolerate any slander, malicious falsehood or defamation via social media outlets relating to a groom due to coats that have not been maintained at home (matted coat), or miscommunication. If you are unhappy, please contact us immediately and we will try our best to resolve the issue.

Can I stay with my dog whilst they are being groomed?

No, sorry, we are a multi groomer salon and dog safety is our number one priority so we do not allow the general public to stay.

Can my child do their work experience with you?

No.

Do you refuse dogs with behaviour issues?

The only dogs we cannot groom are dogs that excessively bark. This is for the welfare of the other dogs in the salon as it causes them stress.

I'm not sure what category my dog falls into to make a booking, how do I find out?

If you go to our services tab and have a read through you should be able to figure out what your dog needs. If you are still unsure, please feel free to send us a message here.

Do you have parking?

If you pull in to the driveway to the side of the salon, there is a car park. Our spaces are the first two on the right as you come in. Alternatively, there is ample parking at Fryern Arcade or Waitrose - both less than a 5 minute walk away.
